I genuinely did try to brainstorm a way to do the gag that made more physical sense, before I like, looked at the joke I was writing in the first place and remembered that I’m allowed to do dumb stuff because it’s just funny

I can further rationalize it by pointing to the fact that his species appears to be descended from some kind of grazing prey animal, and it would be advantageous for them to have very strong back legs for leaping and kicking. I pretend I do not hear as somebody raises their hand to ask how his knees bend to cling to a pole
